Lose Weight – and Become Healthy – Naturally

Losing weight is much more difficult than gaining weight. There is a way to lose weight naturally, which – if you can stick to it – will help you prevent against putting weight on in the future. Point is, once you get the weight off, it is important to keep it off so you do not have to go through the process again. You cannot do this with the latest fad diets, detox diets, or even diet pills – these are all temporary solutions – you need a permanent solution if you want to stay fit and healthy!

Counting calories and measuring portions is a quite tedious and monotonous, but calorie intake is important for weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight. In order to lose weight, you must burn more calories than you eat. Having said this, there are few steps you can take to watch your calorie intake without spending hours making up meal plans.

First off, start reading nutritional labels on foods. Try to go for fat-free foods, look for foods low in carbohydrates, and look at the calories per servings. Once you get a hang of this, it will become second nature. You will be able to count your calories in your head without interrupting you day.

Focus on vegetables, fruits, and whole grain foods. These foods have the proper nutrients that your body needs. Many fruits and vegetables actually help you to burn calories; therefore, the calories you eat are actually helping you to burn calories – yet another bonus and easy way to lose weight.

Stay away from junk and fast food. If you have the munchies, or need a snack, eat a healthy one. If you cut down your portion sizes, you will get hungry more often. Eating 5-6 times a day, rather than 2 or 3, is much better for you! This type of eating is not only good for your health, but it will help you to lose weight as well.

Once you figure out a good meal plan, and are sticking to a healthier way of eating – start exercising. A simple 20-30 minute cardiovascular workout, with stretching before and after, and some strength training exercises worked in, will increase your heart rate, metabolism, and muscle mass – all of which will help you burn those extra calories. Let’s say you choose to walk for 30 minutes.

You can buy some free weights that you can hold and do various exercises while you walk, which help build your upper body strength. You can also purchase, after you have a good routine, some weights for your ankles for lower muscle mass. As long as you stretch before and after, you will have implemented a simple 30-minute full body workout into your day!

You do not have to be a genius on the matter to lose weight, and then later maintain a healthy weight. Anyone – even the busiest of working mothers – can implement this natural weight loss program into their daily routine. Remember to reward yourself on with a day off! After all, you are working towards a healthier life you deserve to enjoy it!
