Just a Few Helpful Tips to Losing Weight and Keeping it Off

There are many different diets, diet pills, and weight loss programs that claim to help you lose weight. While many of these may work, they are only temporary solutions to a permanent issue. There is one proven way to lose weight and keep it off, which is being talked about more and more.

It is actually quite simple. Cut down portion size, stop eating when you are full, eat 5-6 small meals a day (rather than 3), and exercise on a regular basis. The foods that you eat also play a role in weight gain and loss. Eat foods that are high in vitamins and minerals – vegetables, fruits, proteins, whole grains – and are low in processed sugars.

Having said all of this, there are other factors that affect your ability to lose weight and keep it off. The people you socialize with, your family, stress, certain situations, and many other outside factors affect your emotional state, which affects the way that you eat and exercise. Luckily, there are many motivational, emotional, and mental exercises you can do – consciously – to stop the negative effects of these factors!

First off, when you know that you are ready to start losing weight, tell your friends and family! (Many people avoid this for the simple fact that they do not want to be ridiculed if they do not succeed.) Your friends and family are a great source of motivation and accountability! Tell them that is why you are informing them of your plans, because you want them to hold you accountable. This may be annoying – at first – but it will keep you in check and make sure that you are sticking to you plan!

Secondly, find an exercise program that you enjoy! If you do not enjoy it, you will not stick with it and will be unhappy. If you like walking – walk – if you like swimming – swim; whatever you enjoy, find a way to implement it into your new weight loss program. The more you enjoy these activities, the more likely you are to keep the weight off once you have lost it.

One of the most difficult parts of weight loss is your own self-esteem. The worst thing you can do to yourself is compare yourself to those you see at the store, on TV, or even running around the neighborhood. Everybody is different; genetics and DNA play a big role in who you are and what you look like! Remember, you are unique, life is better this way – there is absolutely no need for you to be like someone else!

Finally, no matter how tempting it is, do not let others influence you into cheating! Even if it is one night, stick with what you are doing. You are doing this for you and your future. Whoever does not support you or is trying to get you to cheat is simply jealous of your discipline! Remember, doing something about your health makes you better than the majority of the world population!

Losing weight, and keeping it off, is as simple as 1, 2, 3 – watch what you eat, burn calories, and focus on you! Improving your life and health now will give you a longer life, along with the ability to enjoy your life to the fullest. Enjoy it, have fun with it, watch your confidence explode as you change your lifestyle!
