The Best Weight Loss Diet is a Healthy Diet

SHARE & COMMENT

If you do a search, in Google or other search engines, for “best weight loss diet”, you will find hundreds of links and diets all claiming to be the best. Unfortunately, most of these diets starve you and your body from the proper nutrients, and sometimes calories, which you need to function properly. Others are only temporary fixes, as soon as you go back to your normal eating habits; you put any weight that you lost, right back on. You will even find diets like detox diets that force you to completely starve your body of all nutrients for certain periods of time – for example 7 – 10 days.

If you are looking for a quick fix, and are simply trying to fit into a dress for an evening, one of these diets might be right for you – for the moment anyway. Most of these diets, as you can probably tell, are dangerous to you and your health. Diets that include a good portion of eating, along with plenty of nutrients and minerals, are good for you. Healthy diets are more like an eating plan or a lifestyle change and not a diet at all. However, by proper definition of diet – we can call it such.

So, the best weight loss diet or program is a healthy diet or lifestyle change. One of the first things you should do is learn to put less food on your plate and eat slower. This technique re-trains your stomach and your brain, and gives your body time to actually process the food that you are eating. It eliminates the chance of overstuffing yourself because you have too much food on your plate.

Once you get this down, start eating more frequently throughout the day. This step may come naturally, because when you cut your portions down, and stop when you’re full, you’ll naturally get hungrier more often. A good plan is to have your three meals, along with a healthy ½ a meal between breakfast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner. Meals like a ½ a serving of oatmeal, a bowl of fruits, some fresh vegetables – all of these are good for these “snack” times.

So now, you know what to do for a healthy diet, but not what to eat. Knowing what to eat is not as difficult as it may seem. Vegetables, fruits, poultry, and fish provide you with the majority of vitamins and minerals that your body needs. Carbohydrates, surprising as it may be, are another source of nutrients that you body needs. This is one that you should limit, but to completely eliminate is wrong.

As long as your 5 – 6 meals, each day, include vegetables, fruits, poultry, fish, proteins, and a bit of carbohydrates, you will be filling yourself with a healthy diet. This is the best way to lose weight, and is the best way to stay healthy after weight loss. Eating in this manner trains your body and mind to a healthy lifestyle, and will help you to live a much longer life!
